Video upscaling

Raise an existing video to 1080p, 2K or 4K. Billing is per second, and three things set the price: resolution, tier and frame rate.

A 5 second minimum

A 2 second clip is billed as 5 seconds — 8 credits at 1080p standard. Past 5 seconds the actual length is used.

Frame rate changes the price

Frame rateMultiplier
30 or below×1
Above 30, up to 60×2
Above 60, up to 120×4
Above 120Not supported

A 60fps ten second clip upscaled to 4K standard costs 136 credits, not 68. Frame rate follows the source file, so whatever you upload sets it.

Pro output will not play in the browser

Pro returns HEVC 4:4:4. Browsers and QuickTime cannot open that format, so it will not play on screen — download it and open it in VLC or an editor and it plays normally.

Standard returns H.264 and plays in the browser as is. If you want to check results on screen as you work, standard is the one to use.

Pro is hidden on phones — neither playback nor download is convenient there On tablets and foldables it appears as it does on desktop

How billing works

Billed per second and only for what is actually processed. There is no monthly subscription, and credits stay valid for one year from the date of purchase. Failures are refunded.

Frequently asked questions

What does upscaling a video cost?

Standard is 1.7 credits a second at 1080p, 3.4 at 2K and 6.8 at 4K, so a ten second clip at 4K is 68 credits. Pro is 17, 34 and 68 respectively — exactly ten times standard.

Is a very short clip still billed by the second?

Billing starts at a 5 second minimum. A 2 second clip is billed as 5 seconds, which is 8 credits at 1080p standard. Past 5 seconds the actual length is used.

Does a higher frame rate cost more?

Yes. Up to 30 frames per second the rate is unchanged; above 30 and up to 60 it doubles; above 60 and up to 120 it quadruples. Anything past 120 is not supported. A 60fps ten second clip at 4K standard is 136 credits rather than 68.

Why will pro output not play?

Pro returns HEVC 4:4:4, which browsers and QuickTime cannot open. Download it and open it in VLC or an editor and it plays normally. If you want to view results in the browser, use standard — that comes back as H.264.

What separates standard from pro?

Pro carries 10-bit and 12-bit colour and costs ten times standard. Bit depth itself does not change the price — tier, resolution and frame rate are the three axes that do. Pro 12-bit needs separate access.

Can I upscale from a phone?

Standard works anywhere. Pro is hidden on phones because its output cannot be played in the browser and there is no convenient way to download it there. On tablets and foldables it appears as it does on desktop.

What happens to credits if it fails?

They are refunded. Credits are only deducted for work that succeeds, and there is no monthly subscription.
