A drama is written in a different order from a film. A story that runs over several episodes starts by deciding what happens in each episode, and the same characters and places keep coming back across episodes. In HFLUX, STORY shows the steps for the format you pick, and the finished script is grouped by episode in SCENE and carried through to shot video.
Film formats (feature and short) and the full SCENE and production board guide are in the AI Film Production guide.
STORY has four drama formats: Single-episode drama, Miniseries, Short-form drama, and Sitcom. A single-episode drama is written Logline → Synopsis → Characters → Scene list → Scene script; a miniseries and a short-form drama are written Project intent → Synopsis → Characters → Episode loglines → Scene list → Scene script; a sitcom is written Logline → Characters → Scene list → Scene script.
| Format | Steps | Episode box |
|---|---|---|
| Single-episode drama | Logline → Synopsis → Characters → Scene list → Scene script | No |
| Miniseries | Project intent → Synopsis → Characters → Episode loglines → Scene list → Scene script | Yes |
| Short-form drama | Project intent → Synopsis → Characters → Episode loglines → Scene list → Scene script | Yes |
| Sitcom | Logline → Characters → Scene list → Scene script | No |
When you pick Sitcom, the Scene list step shows the hint "For a sitcom, try cold open → acts 1–3 → tag".
Along with the format you choose the script mode ([Standard script] · [AI video script]), genre, and topic. A standard script uses standard screenplay format, while an AI video script has place, day/night, interior/exterior, and characters boxes for each scene.
For a miniseries or a short-form drama, write one episode per line in the [Episode loglines] step, then set which episode each scene belongs to in the [Scene list]. In an AI video script, scene numbers follow episode-scene order (for example 1-3).
Names written in the Characters step can be picked in the scene script with [Add a name], which makes it easy to keep each name the same from episode to episode.
When you pick Short-form drama, the Episode loglines step shows the hint "For short-form, try ending each episode on a cliffhanger". For vertical video, choose 9:16 as the aspect ratio on the SCENE start screen and the new project is created at that ratio (the same applies when you send from STORY); the aspect ratio is fixed after the first generation.
The aspect ratio on the SCENE start screen is one of 16:9 · 9:16 · 1:1 · 4:3 · 3:4 · 21:9. A shot runs up to 30 seconds on Seedance 2.5 and up to 15 seconds on the Seedance 2.0 models.
Each box has AI help ([3 ideas] · [Ask me] · [Polish]), and [AI auto-write] continues the remaining steps from what you have written so far. Episode loglines are included in AI auto-write. [Write it all with AI] on the start screen builds from scratch using keywords and a number of scenes.
AI-written text is not dropped in on its own. You choose between [Use this text] · [Add below] yourself, and even after replacing you can go back with [Undo].
Press [Send to SCENE] and a new project is created in the SCENE tab from that script; for a miniseries or a short-form drama an episode line such as "Episode 1" goes in for each episode. SCENE groups the scenes by those lines, and the story element extraction lists an episode plot for each episode.
When you upload a drama script written elsewhere straight to SCENE, put a line such as "Episode 1" or "Episode 1: Title" at the start of each episode and the scenes are grouped by episode. Only this English form is recognized as an episode line.
In Assets you set an image for each character, location, and prop before moving on to the production board. The images you set carry between shots, and shots with the same place and time of day receive the same space description.
Characters can also get [Costume · hair & makeup] and [Voice setup]. Upload a person's face photo or voice only if it is yours or you have their consent. The Terms of Service prohibit creating or spreading someone's face or voice with AI without consent.
With the video engine on the Seedance 2.5 or 2.0 family and sound turned on, a shot with dialogue becomes video where the character speaks that line. Korean is supported.
Yes. Press [To Edit] at the top of the production board and the shot videos of the open board are placed in order at the end of the Edit tab timeline, with the playhead at the start of the first one. Videos already on the timeline are not placed again, so opening the episode's boards one by one and pressing it joins the episode in sequence. [To CANVAS] on the same row brings the open board into your current canvas in CANVAS as nodes. Cut and join them in the Edit tab, export an MP4, and generate subtitles from speech.
Make voice, sound effects, and music in the Audio tab, and take the finished video to 1080p, 2K, or 4K in the Upscale tab.

Buttons that use credits carry a price badge, so you see the cost before you press. Credits per second for each model and the cost by length are published on the pricing page.
